The Forum

The Forum was created to keep the Greater La Crosse community informed about changes to the business environment. Few events in La Crosse provide access to government officials and dynamic area leaders like The Forum. The Chamber hosts The Forum on the second Monday of every month covering a variety of topics.

This October, we’ll be meeting with our legislators and other state elected officials to bring the La Crosse Area’s business and community issues to their attention. Join us on the virtual event and add perspective from your business or industry on these critical issues below.

Childcare

Meeting with Dept. of Children and Families Secretary Emilie Amundson

The Childcare session will request expanded financial and structural support from the State to address the childcare crisis in its entirety from issues of access and affordability to retention of providers.

Transportation & EV Charging

Meeting with Dept. of Transportation Secretary Craig Thompson

The Transportation session will speak with DOT and state legislators on continued support for safe and adequate roads, recommendations within the State’s electrical vehicle infrastructure, aid for our Regional Airport, and support for expanding our outdoor recreation and trail systems.

Meeting with Dept. of Administration Assistant Deputy Secretary Olivia Hwang

The UW-La Crosse Prairie Spring Completion/Cowley Hall Demolition Project session will cover details of the $110 million proposed project and its workforce and economic impact on the region.

Workforce

Meeting with Dept. of Workforce Development Assistant Deputy Secretary Danielle Williams

The Workforce session will encourage the State to continue to support workforce initiatives like Talent Attraction & Retention, Pathways & Apprenticeship Programs, and Credential & Licensing.
