July Forum Online
The Economic Impact of Child Care
On Wednesday, July 13th, we were joined by Wisconsin Department of Children and Families Secretary Emilie Amundson and Administrator of Early Care and Education Erin Arango-Escalante for a timely discussion on the economic impact of child care.
Emilie and Erin discussed the child care crisis that existed pre-COVID and the ways in which child care issues have been magnified by the pandemic. Attendees learned the four areas of child care which most impact Wisconsin’s economy – access, affordability, quality, and workforce – and the current situation in each area, plus opportunities for growth and collaboration to help ensure quality child care for Wisconsin families.
